Founded by Richard "Bud" LeMieux in Anacortes, Washington, Northern Marine has delivered over 40 custom expedition yachts ranging from 57' to 152'. Voted among the world's top 5 yacht builders by the International Superyacht Society.
The yard pioneered resin-infusion and vacuum-assisted composite processes that influenced the broader yacht industry. Every vessel is conservatively engineered, ABS classification-ready, and built for extended ocean passages with the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Meet Bud LeMieux
Chairman of Yacht Design · Founder, Northern Marine
Bud built his first boat — an 8-foot pram — in 7th grade. The next year he built his first electric boat. By high school graduation he'd completed six vessels. After years at Boeing's wind-tunnel test models and the 747 production line, he returned to his calling.
Starting as a floor sweeper at a Lake Union boatyard, Bud was promoted to planking lead within six months. He then spent 23 years at Delta Marine in Seattle, promoted to supervisor over all systems departments at age 22. Under his leadership, Delta rose to become one of the top boat builders in the nation.
In 1995, Bud founded Northern Marine in Anacortes, delivering 32 custom yachts in 10 years and earning recognition as one of the top 5 yacht builders in the world by the International Superyacht Society. He brings several pre-order sales for large yachts to the revitalized yard.

One of the largest and most respected yacht brokerages in North America. Since 1983, Seattle Yachts has helped thousands of owners find their perfect vessel — from adventure trawlers to luxury motor yachts and performance sailboats.
As part of the GOH acquisition strategy, Seattle Yachts will serve as the exclusive sales arm for Northern Marine vessels while continuing its full-service brokerage, new boat sales, yacht management, and refit services across all offices.
